Bloggy Awards & Other Such Things

Hello, lovelies!

I have been busy, busy lately.  I've started work on a little romance novella currently titled Haunted that I am absolutely thrilled about.  It's my first forray into the romance genre and I'm excited to see how it turns out.  I love feeling the writing bug!  Once I finish the initial write-through of Haunted I will be picking back up my still-untitled super hero book.  I've been dying to do some more work on it, but I've forced myself to put it down because every time I look at it, I scratch my head and wonder what to do with it.  I know it has the potential to be fantastic, so I want to give it the time off it deserves!

I have a few reviews I'll be posting soon.  I've been slacking on getting them up here, but head over to GraveTells.com to check them out!

Speaking of GraveTells.com, I have a favor to ask of you!  Voting has started for the Bloggy Awards, and both GraveTells.com and the lovely Ms. Buffy Kennedy have been nominated for several awards!  Please, please head over and vote.  Here's a couple (but not all) of the categories to check out:
There are tons of other categories, some Buffy and GraveTells.com have been nominated for, some they haven't.  This is a great way to learn about new authors, blogs, and books!  No matter who you vote for, it's for sure worth checking out!

Also, make sure you follow me on Twitter and Facebook, because you love me, and because I post all kinds of geeky-ness ;).

Review: The Vampire’s Plaything by Ashlynn Monroe

Book:  The Vampire’s Plaything by Ashlynn Monroe (The Edge short stories)
Recommended Reader Age: 18+
Genre: Erotica
Sexual Content Level: Explicit
My Rating:  ★★★★☆ (4 of 5)

For the full review, check out GraveTells.com!

Steamy, sexy, and to the point, The Vampire’s Plaything is sure to keep you turning the pages and begging for more. Ashlynn Monroe does a fantastic job of developing characters with emotion, depth, and chemistry, which is not an easy task in so few pages. I actually found myself wishing there was more to read of this story, and wanting to learn more about the characters and the world they live in. Hayden and Liam are both so mysterious and sexy.

The Vampire’s Plaything is hot, sexy, and worth a look!

What??? I'm Blogging!

From the lack of activity on this blog I'm sure you have gathered one or two things:
  1. I'm TOO BUSY.
  2. I'm unmotivated.
Both of these things are true.  I've been working my butt off at home and at work, and things are only getting busier.  The good news is the unmotivation has only been taking a toll my blogging (and maybe my reading a bit).

Then today inspiration hit in the form of Amber Benson, in all her awesomeness.  I've loved this woman ever since she played Tara on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  She sings, she dances, she acts, she writes.  And I'm not sure she knows this, but she motivates.  Read the blog post I've linked above.  If you're a writer, you will totally understand and fall in love with her as well.

You'd like the good news now, right?  Well, I do have some of that!  I have finished my first draft/crappy draft/over-detailed-to-the-point-of-mini-draft-outline of my book.  EXCITING!  I'll give you a quick spoiler:  the last sentence on the page is "OMG HOW DO I WRAP THIS UP?"  Okay, I know it doesn't sound finished, but I felt like, for the time being, it's complete.  So, at the advice of several awesome writer friends, I have put it down.

So what am I doing while I anxiously wait to pick up my manuscript and really dig in to it again?

Well, I've done what any other reasonable person who loves to write would do.

I started another book.

~_^

This one is going to be a romance novella, and it may never see the light of day, but it was too good a concept not to write down.  We'll see!

In the meantime, bear with me.  I can't guarantee this motivation means weekly posts, but hopefully it means more frequent ones.  Matter of fact, I have a review posting later this week for Ashlynn Moore's The Vampire's Plaything.  Can't wait until then to see it?  Well, head over to GraveTells.com and check it out early!
